Funds and commitments

Create a fund or vehicle, record its terms, and add LP commitments with their signing status.

The Funds screen holds every vehicle you manage: funds, SPVs and syndicates. Each fund carries its own terms, LP roster, capital calls and distributions. Deals and contacts are shared across the firm; performance and LP rosters are scoped per fund.

Who can do this

Every team member can open Funds and read everything. Creating or editing a fund, adding commitments, issuing capital calls and recording distributions require the Owner or Admin access level. See Roles and team.

Your plan sets how many vehicles you can manage. The count is shown at the top of the screen; when the limit is reached, New fund opens a prompt to see plans.

Create a fund

  1. Open Funds and click New fund.
  2. In Overview, enter the Fund name, Base currency, Target fund size (M), Committed size (M), Inception / vintage date, Status, Fund term (years), Strategy and the Investment period start and end.
  3. In Economics, enter Management fee (%), Carry (%), GP commit (M) and Hurdle (%).
  4. Click Save fund.

All amounts are entered in millions of the fund’s base currency. Fund status is one of Raising, Investing, Harvesting or Closed. To change terms later, open the fund and click Edit fund terms.

The fund detail

Click a fund card to open its detail sheet. It has three tabs:

  • Overview — strategy, fund term, investment period, capital (committed, called, dry powder), economics and net IRR, with shortcuts to holdings, limited partners and performance.
  • LPs — the roster of commitments for this fund.
  • Capital calls — calls and distributions. See Capital calls and Distributions.

The strip at the top of the Funds screen rolls up all vehicles: Vehicles, Total committed, Called to date and Dry powder. Funds in other currencies are converted into the firm roll-up currency at the rate shown.

Add a commitment

  1. Open the fund and switch to the LPs tab.
  2. Click Add commitment.
  3. Under Limited partner, search your Network for the investor. If they are not there yet, choose Create new company and enter a name and website. The record is created in Network.
  4. Enter the Commitment (M) and choose a Status: Invited, Sent, Signed or Countersigned.
  5. Click Add commitment.

An LP is the same organisation record you see in Network. Becoming an LP does not change its categories, and there is no second record to maintain. Click the LP’s name in the roster to open that record in place.

Edit a commitment

Each roster row has two icon buttons: Manage LP contacts opens the people who receive reports and can sign in to the portal (see LP contacts), and Edit commitment lets you change the amount or the signing status.
