Recording rounds and markups
Record every later round a portfolio company raises — whether or not you participate — so ownership and marks stay current.
A portfolio company’s later rounds change two things you care about: the valuation of your stake and how much of the company you still own. Investryx records both in one form, and asks separately whether your fund put money in.
Open the form
- On Portfolio, select the Record a new round icon on the company’s row, or
- Open the position and select Record new round at the bottom of its history.
The Record new round dialog opens, headed with the fund, your current ownership and invested amount.
The round’s terms (always recorded)
The top half describes the round itself. Fill it in even when you are not investing, because the valuation still marks your position.
- Round — pre-filled with the likely next round name; change it if needed.
- Date.
- Post-money valuation ($M) (required), or Valuation cap ($M) for a SAFE or convertible note.
- Total raised ($M) — the whole round, used to compute your dilution.
- Round lead and Other new investors.
- Instrument and Security. A Discount rate (%) field appears for convertible instruments.
“We participated in this round”
Below the terms is a switch, We participated in this round, which is off by default.
- Off — Investryx records the new valuation only. Your stake is diluted by the round, your invested amount does not change, and the mark updates. The history labels the entry No participation (a markup).
- On — an Our participation block appears: Our investment ($M), the Fund, Board after this round (None, Observer, Board seat) and whether Pro-rata rights are retained. A hint shows the pro-rata amount needed to keep your ownership flat, for example “Pro-rata to stay flat ≈ $0.4M”. The history labels the entry Participated (a follow-on).
Preview and save
An Impact on the position strip previews the effect before you commit: the change in Ownership in percentage points, and the new Invested, Value and MOIC. Select Record round. A confirmation reads “Series A recorded for Acme Robotics”.
Editing and removing entries
In the position’s Round & follow-on history, every entry has an Edit this entry icon. Editing reopens this form pre-filled as Edit round; save with Save round. Closing the form returns you to the position popup. Inside the edit form, Remove this entry deletes a round that was recorded by mistake; the position’s ownership and value are recalculated from the remaining entries.
The initial investment is edited the same way, from its own history row, and opens the Edit investment form instead.
Where the numbers go
Each round updates the position’s ownership, value and MOIC on Portfolio. On Performance, priced rounds become points on the fund’s TVPI curve, and rounds you participated in appear in Capital deployed for the quarter of their date.
