Intro drafts

Let AI write the first pass of an introduction email in the tone you choose, then review and send it from your own mailbox.

Writing a good double-opt-in introduction takes longer than it should. Make intro drafts one from your contact records in a chosen tone; you edit it and send it from your own mail client. The AI writes the first pass and never sends anything.

Draft an introduction

  1. Open Contacts and tick the checkbox on one or more rows — typically the two people you want to introduce.
  2. In the inline selection bar that appears on the right of the toolbar, select Make intro.
  3. In the Make intro dialog, either write the introduction yourself in the text area or pick a Tone — Warm, Formal or Brief — and select Generate with AI.
  4. Read the draft. Edit anything you like directly in the text area. To have the AI rework your edited version, select Rewrite with AI.
  5. Select Send intro.

Send intro opens a new message in your own mail client addressed to the selected contacts. If the draft begins with a line starting Subject:, that line becomes the email subject; otherwise the subject is “Introduction”. The rest of the draft becomes the body. Review it once more and send it from there.

What the AI uses

The draft is built only from your contact records: names, titles, companies, the note on each contact, and what your team has logged. The dialog states this under the text area — “AI-drafted — review and edit before sending. Facts come only from your contact records.” — so if a draft feels thin, the fix is to add a note or a role to the contact. The AI does not search the web for this task and does not invent context.

The draft is written in the workspace’s Default AI co-pilot language (Settings → Language). Ask for another language in your edit if the recipients need one.

Intro requests

The same drafting works when you are asking a colleague to introduce you. In Request intro to (opened from a company or contact drawer), choose the teammate under Route through, then select Generate with AI for a request message that references the relationship they hold. See Warm intros.

Tips

  • Select exactly the people who should be on the email. Extra rows become extra recipients.
  • The Brief tone suits founders and busy operators; Formal suits institutional LPs and lawyers.
  • After the email is out, log it as an Email interaction on the company so relationship strength reflects it.
