Watermarks
How PDF downloads from the LP portal are stamped with the downloader's email and date, and what is not stamped.
When an investor downloads a PDF from the LP portal, Investryx stamps a light one-line footer on every page: the downloader’s email address, the date, and “via
What the stamp looks like
One line at the foot of each page, in small grey type:
name@investor.com · Sep 17, 2026 · via Acme Ventures LP portal
It is personalisation, not a warning. There are no diagonal “confidential” banners and no changes to the document body.
When it is applied
- PDF files downloaded from the LP portal by a signed-in recipient. The identity comes from their portal session, so the email is always the one on their contact record.
- The in-portal viewer shows the same stamp line under the preview, so a screenshot carries it too.
- The portal tells the investor before they download: “Downloads of this PDF carry a footer stamp — …”, and the download toast repeats the stamp text.
When it is not applied
- Non-PDF files (XLSX, DOCX, PPTX) download unchanged. They are not converted to PDF.
- The built report is rendered in the portal from the set’s saved data rather than downloaded as a file.
- Your own previews on LP Reporting are not stamped; the preview dialog only notes that PDF downloads are stamped per recipient.
- Originals in the report set stay clean. Reverting a set to Draft or re-publishing it changes nothing about the files.
What you can configure
Nothing, in the current version. Stamping is always on for every PDF and every report set; there are no per-document or per-set toggles.
How it relates to the access log
Each download is also recorded as a download event with the contact and time, so a stamped file and the access log point to the same person. See Access log and reminders.
Tips
- If a PDF is encrypted or malformed and cannot be stamped, the portal serves the file unstamped rather than failing the download. Test important files by opening them in the portal preview.
- Because the stamp names the downloader, make sure each LP contact uses their own email rather than a shared mailbox. See LP contacts.
