Editing enriched fields
Correct any field by hand. A value is marked Manual only when it differs from what enrichment found.
Every field on an organisation is editable, whether enrichment filled it or not. Investryx keeps track of which values are yours and which came from a source, so the provenance chips stay honest after you edit.
Edit the Overview
- Open the company and expand the Overview section.
- Select the Edit (pencil) button on the section header. Entering edit mode expands the section if it was collapsed.
- Change any fields you need.
- Select Save. To discard your changes, select Cancel.
Editing is scoped to the Overview. Other sections — Interactions, Dataroom, Signals — have their own controls.
What you can edit
- Name is the first row. Changing it updates the drawer title as you type.
- Source — how the company reached you, chosen from a grouped list (Inbound, Referral, Outbound, Event, Platform & research, Other). A hand-set value shows a Manual flag.
- Stage (startups) — the funding stage, from Pre-seed to Exited.
- Company sector, Tech category and Core tech (startups and enterprises) — multi-select chips; open the menu to tick or untick values.
- The category-specific fields, such as Founded, Team size, Total raised or Assets under mgmt.
- Headquarters — pick a city from the search box.
- Description — a full-width text area at the bottom of the section.
The Manual rule
A field is marked Manual only when the value you saved differs from the value enrichment found. This has three consequences:
- If you change a field, it shows a green Manual badge, and your value takes precedence over enrichment from then on, including after a Re-enrich.
- If you edit a field back to exactly the enriched value, the Manual badge disappears and the original source and confidence chip return. Nothing is stored for that field.
- Fields you do not touch keep their source and confidence exactly as before.
A field you fill that enrichment never touched shows Manual entry as its source.
Because the rule compares against the enriched value, you can freely open edit mode, look around and save without turning every field Manual.
When to edit rather than re-enrich
Re-enrich is the right tool when a company has changed and you want fresh public data across the record. Editing is the right tool when you know something the sources do not — a confirmed round size from the founder, a corrected headcount, a description in your own words. Manual values survive every later re-enrichment, so you only need to enter them once.
