Distributions
Record a distribution to LPs, choose its type, and see the fund's DPI update.
A distribution returns capital or gains to the fund’s LPs. You record it once at the fund level; Investryx updates the fund’s DPI and shows each LP their distributed amount in the portal.
Before you start
Record the underlying exit on Portfolio first so the position, the proceeds and the distribution tell the same story. Recording a distribution requires the Owner or Admin access level.
Record a distribution
- Open Funds, click the fund, and switch to the Capital calls tab. Distributions are listed below the calls; the section header shows the total distributed and the current DPI.
- Click New distribution.
- Enter the Amount (M) in the fund’s base currency and the Date.
- Enter the Source, for example “acquisition proceeds”.
- Choose the Type: Return of capital, Gain, Return of capital + gain, or Recallable.
- Click Record distribution.
Distributions are numbered per fund (Distribution #1, #2, …). The activity feed records that you recorded it.
What changes
- DPI on the fund card, the fund detail and Performance is distributed ÷ called. It updates as soon as the distribution is saved.
- The firm roll-up at the top of Funds and the fund’s Performance view include the new cashflow.
- In the LP portal, each investor’s Capital account shows Distributed per fund and in total, alongside commitment, called and NAV.
Types
| Type | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Return of capital | Returning contributed capital |
| Gain | Profit above contributed capital |
| Return of capital + gain | A single distribution that covers both |
| Recallable | Capital that may be called again under the fund terms |
The type is recorded with the distribution and shown on its row; it does not change how DPI is computed.
Tips
- Amounts are in millions, like everywhere else in Investryx.
- There is no edit or delete action on a distribution row. If you recorded one against the wrong fund, ask us through the contact form.
