Exits
Record an acquisition, IPO, secondary sale or write-off, close the position and realise proceeds.
An exit closes a position. You record what kind of exit it was and what came back to the fund; Investryx moves the position’s value to realised proceeds, sets its final multiple and stops collecting KPIs from the company.
Record an exit
- On Portfolio, select the Record exit icon on the company’s row, or open the position and select Record exit.
- In Record exit, choose the type: Acquisition, IPO, Secondary sale or Write-off.
- For the first three, enter Proceeds to the fund ($M) — the cash (or cash value) the fund actually receives — and the Exit date. For a write-off there are no proceeds; enter the Date only.
- Add a Note if useful, for example “acquired by a public company — cash plus stock”.
- Check the impact line, then select Record exit.
The impact line previews the outcome before you save: “$12.5M realised · NAV goes to $0 · final MOIC 2.50×”, or for a write-off “Position marked written off · $3.0M NAV goes to $0 · final MOIC 0.00×”.
What changes
- The position’s Status becomes Exited (or Written off). It still appears on Portfolio, and the Active summary card counts it under “N exited”.
- Total value now equals realised proceeds, and MOIC is frozen at proceeds ÷ invested.
- An Exit entry is added to the position’s Round & follow-on history, showing the amount realised. Like any entry it can be edited later from the history.
- KPI collection stops for the company; the KPI chip reads Exited, and it is skipped by Request KPIs.
- On Performance, the position’s value path drops to zero on the exit date, which shows up in the fund’s TVPI curve.
Partial exits
The exit form closes the whole position. If you sold part of a stake in a secondary while keeping the rest, record the proceeds by editing the initial investment instead: open the position, select Edit this entry on the initial round, and fill in Realised ($M) and the new Current value ($M) under Current position. The position stays Active with its realised amount tracked.
Exits and distributions
Recording an exit updates the portfolio and the fund’s value; it does not by itself distribute money to LPs. When the fund pays out proceeds, record a distribution on the fund’s Funds page. Distributions are what move DPI on Performance and appear in LP capital accounts.
