Notifications
What the bell in the top bar tells you, which events raise a notification, and how read state works.
The bell in the top bar collects the events that need a person’s attention: LP activity, overdue payments, momentum signals and actions the agent applied. It complements the dashboard activity feed, which is a chronological log of everything that happened.
The bell
- A badge on the bell shows your unread count (9+ above nine).
- Click it to open the list. Each row has a coloured dot for its type, the message, the kind (Signals, Funds, LP portal, Portfolio, Agent, Pipeline, Reporting) and a relative time. Unread rows are tinted and carry a marker.
- Click a row to go to the screen it belongs to. It is marked read on the way.
- Mark all read clears the unread state for everything in the list.
Read state is per person: your teammates keep their own unread counts.
What raises a notification
| Kind | Event | Where it takes you |
|---|---|---|
| Signals | A tracked company crossed a momentum threshold, with the signals that drove it | The company in Sourcing |
| Funds | A capital call payment is overdue: “Capital call #3 — | The fund’s Capital calls tab |
| LP portal | A recipient opened or downloaded a report document | The report set |
| LP portal | Three days after publishing, some recipients still have not opened the set | The report set |
| Portfolio | A KPI request to a portfolio company is overdue | Portfolio |
| Pipeline | A deal has been idle in Screening, Diligence or IC for 21 days or more | Pipeline |
| Agent | The agent applied a change: “Agent moved | The affected record |
| Funds | Billing events such as a subscription change, a trial ending in three days or a failed payment | Settings → Plan & billing |
Each event is raised once. A capital call that stays overdue does not repeat every day; a report set with unopened recipients notifies once.
Notifications and the activity feed
Both are fed by the same events. The activity feed on the dashboard shows everything, including things no one needs to act on, such as “created fund Fund II” or “enriched Acme Robotics — 12 fields updated”. The bell shows the subset that asks for attention, with per-person read state.
What is not there yet
There are no email digests or push notifications. Investors do not see this bell; their emails are the publish notification and reminders you send from LP Reporting.
Tips
- If the bell says “You’re all caught up”, nothing is unread; older notifications remain in the list.
- Agent notifications name who asked, so the team can see which changes came through the co-pilot.
