Diligence checklist
A fixed, grouped checklist on every deal with a progress count, so nothing reaches IC half-checked.
Every deal carries the same diligence checklist. It is deliberately short — fourteen items in five groups — so the team can see at a glance what has been done and what is still open before a deal moves to IC.
Where to find it
Open the deal’s company from the pipeline. The Diligence section appears in the drawer as soon as a deal exists, below the Dataroom. Its header shows the progress count, for example 6/14.
The checklist
| Group | Items |
|---|---|
| Team & founders | Founder reference calls · Background checks · Team completeness |
| Market | TAM / market sizing · Competitive landscape · Timing thesis |
| Product & tech | Product / demo review · Technical diligence · Roadmap review |
| Financials | Cap table review · Financial model · Unit economics |
| Legal | IP assignment · Corporate docs |
The list is the same for every deal and cannot be edited in this version. If your process needs different items, tell us through the contact form.
Tick items off
- Expand Diligence.
- Select an item to mark it done. It is struck through and the count in the header updates.
- Select it again to undo.
Changes save immediately and are visible to the whole team.
Putting evidence behind the ticks
The checklist records that something was done; the evidence goes elsewhere in the same drawer:
- Reference calls and meetings — log them in Interactions with the attendees and your notes. These notes also feed the AI memo and the terms autofill.
- Cap table, model, corporate documents — upload them to the Dataroom, where the team can view them in-app.
- Market and competitive reading — run Recent news research for current coverage, and keep your own conclusions in a Note interaction.
How it connects to the memo
When you draft the investment memo, the items already ticked are passed to the AI as “Diligence completed”, and its Recommendation section closes with what diligence remains before IC. Ticking items as you go therefore makes the memo more accurate, and an unticked list is a visible reason to hold a deal at the Diligence stage.
