AI memo
Draft a five-section investment memo from the record, notes and enrichment, then review it before anything reaches IC.
The investment memo is the document your committee reads. Investryx can write the first draft from what is already on the deal, but the draft is never the final word: it carries a review guardrail until a person marks it reviewed.
Draft a memo
- Open the deal’s company from the pipeline and expand Investment memo. Before a draft exists it reads “No memo yet”.
- Select Draft with AI.
- The section shows “Drafting memo… record · notes · enrichment” while the draft is written. You can close the drawer; the memo appears when it is ready.
The memo has five fixed sections in this order: Thesis, Team, Market, Terms, Recommendation. Each is a few plain, specific sentences.
What the draft is built from
Only material already on the record:
- The company’s description, enrichment fields and any manual edits
- The deal terms — round, structure, target and pre-money or cap, lead investors
- The diligence items already ticked
- Up to fifteen of the most recent logged interactions on the company
Figures that came from enrichment with Medium or Unverified confidence are marked “(unverified)” in the text. Where information is missing, the draft says so rather than filling the gap, and the Recommendation closes with what diligence remains before IC. The draft is written in the workspace’s AI co-pilot language.
The review guardrail
A drafted memo shows a banner: “AI draft — review before finalizing.” Unverified figures may appear. Nothing reaches IC until you approve it. The section header carries a Draft · review chip.
To review:
- Read each section and edit it in place. Edits save with the memo.
- Select Mark reviewed. The banner is replaced by “Reviewed by
· ”, with a note that the memo was originally AI-drafted, and the chip changes to Reviewed. - Later edits keep the Reviewed status. Select Unmark to send it back to review, or Re-draft to generate a fresh draft — re-drafting clears the review, because the text is new.
The dashboard activity feed records “drafted an investment memo for Acme Robotics (AI · review before IC)” so the team can see when drafts were produced.
Good habits
- Draft after the first real meeting, not before: the memo is only as good as the notes behind it.
- Tick diligence items as you complete them, so the Recommendation reflects reality.
- Correct the record rather than the memo when a fact is wrong — fix the Overview field or the deal terms, then Re-draft.
